In January 2022 we invited Plastik Kembali to collaborate with us on one of our services we provide, Indoor Plant Rentals. this is a form of commitment from the Spora Lombok Plant in supporting the reduction of plastic waste on the island of Lombok in particular, and spreading awareness to the people of Lombok that reuse, recycle and reduce are important in everyday life. Getting to Know closer Plastik Kembali, to support their movement on the beloved island of Lombok, which is increasingly being known worldwide/internationally.

In what year was Plastik Kembali established and who initiated the initial formation of this project?
Formed in 2019.
The initiators are a husband and wife couple: Elissa Gjertson and Daniel Schwizer
Mission : Recycling used plastic into works that are useful, interesting, beautiful, and of economic value, while also helping to make the earth cleaner, healthier and even more beautiful every day.
Vision: Utilizing single-use plastic so that it can be reused as one of the efforts to make the earth clean from plastic waste Turning recycled plastic into something unique, beautiful, and interesting, as well as offering a creative solution to the problem of plastic waste on the island of Lombok and possibly all over the world.
We aspire to see Selong Belanak village, even Lombok Island, become an area that is clean from plastic waste and as a tourist destination with an eco-craft concept.
We, Spora Lombok Plant, feel lucky to have the opportunity to collaborate with Plastik Kembali, what are the achievements/missions that Plastik Kembali wants to achieve in the near future?
Plastik Kembali wants to make Selong Blanak village a tourist destination that is free from waste, especially plastic waste.
Have the products/Art Crafts from Plastik Kembali been sold outside the region?
Yes, Already. We sold products to several areas in Sumatra, Java, Bali, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. And, it’s still going on.
Wow, it turns out that it has reached outside the area too, right? Is it only plastic waste that is managed/recycled by Plastik Kembali?
Currently, we only recycle used plastic and we combine it with other natural materials such as pandanus, rattan, bamboo, etc., used fabrics.
When we visited Plastik Kembali, We saw a lot of products that are recycled from this plastic waste material, Can you name any products that have been created from the creative hands of Plastik Kembali?
Bags, wall hangings, bowls, passport wallets, rattan and bamboo baskets combined from used plastic, and other creative products, such as lampshades, carpets, etc.
Already. We watched them collect and take the used plastic bags to Plastik Return and we paid for it. They also make various products from recycled waste, such as plastic, food, scrap, used packaging, etc. As can be seen from the community of recycling craftsmen, at the eco flee market, bazaars, etc. They also care about cleanliness by creating programs, waste banks, clean beaches, rivers, roads, markets, etc.
What steps has been taken by Plastik Kembali in campaigning for plastic waste recycling in Lombok society?
We campaign in more tangible ways/programs, such as: – teaching how to make crafts from used plastic – Holding beach clean programs, markets with the community – Providing education/simple workshops for students to use used plastic into useful and beautiful works.
As long as Plastik Kembali in existence, has it received any attention or assistance from the local government?
The government appreciates the establishment of Plastik Kembali and its program and there is no assistance yet. However, Plastik Kembali always supports local government programs related to the environment, zero waste, community empowerment, local crafts.
In closing, what do you want to convey to the people of Lombok, especially from Plastic Back?
Plastic Return hopes that its activities can inspire the people of Selong Blanak in particular and Lombok, in general, to collect using used plastic and create useful and beautiful works.
